General rules for all contests and promotions broadcast on Air 1 Radio
Note: Individual contests may have their own special qualifications and eligibility rules.
Air 1 contests are open to all Air 1 listeners in the United States, unless a specific age is required due to the type of contest, participating agency or advertiser or by law.
Only one person per family may qualify or win an Air 1 contest within a 30 day period.
All Air 1 contest winners agree to allow Air 1 to use their name or likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation and may be required to sign a release. All calls to Air 1 are taped and may be aired on Air 1 without further permission.
Air 1 is not responsible for problems occurring within the telephone system which either inhibit or increase the chances of winning a phone-in contest. If two or more phone lines are “tied together” during a phone-in contest, all callers are disqualified and another call will be taken. Air 1 does not award duplicate prizes to all parties in a “tied together” situation. In case of telephone line malfunction, the decision of Air 1 is final.
Due to Internet delays beyond our control, Air 1’s online stream may be delayed at times which can cause difficulty in participating in on-air contests. Online listening delays may vary depending on your Internet connection.
Employees and agents of Educational Media Foundation and their families, advertising agencies or representatives are ineligible to enter Air 1 contests.
Winners may not request substitution or other consideration from the originally awarded prize. Unless otherwise stated, all prizes will be mailed. Air 1 is not responsible for any delays in receipt of prizes caused by the postal system.
Prizes are non-transferable, except for concert tickets placed at will call. Prizes have no cash value, expressed or implied.
Air 1 reserves the right to revoke prizes if the winner does not meet any or all eligibility requirements, even though an announcement has been made on the air indicating that person was the winner.
A 1099 MISC form will be completed and filed with the Internal Revenue service for each winner who wins prizes valued at $600 or more over the course of a calendar year. All local, state and federal taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Air 1 may, due to the unavailability of prizes awarded, substitute another prize of equal or greater value for the prize originally won. Air 1 is not responsible or liable for prizes awarded to an event that is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control.
With respect to any disputes regarding contests, the decision of Air 1 is final.
Air 1, its agency and representatives shall not be liable for any claim, injury or damage from any Air 1 contest or prize awarded in a contest.
All contest entries become the property of Air 1. Air 1 may withhold any or all contest entry materials for any reason station management deems crucial to the completion of the contest or for reasons relating to publicity or advertising.
Unless otherwise stated, multiple entries by the same person will be discarded and may be deemed cause for disqualification.
All rules are subject to change without notice.
