The reason is because I have spent most of my adult life on the road with Skillet. I got married and Korey and I went on the road together. Next, we had kids on the road, and my kids have spent most of their lives on the road! All that to say, we have given every year, month and day to our music and the message. Sometimes I have to step back and realize that maybe I give too much time to this work. Perhaps I need to spend more time working on those relationships with my wife and kids, rather than spending all of my time on the music and ministry of Skillet. Because in the end, who cares how many records we sell, or how many lives are touched, if I ruin my relationships with my family or if I am a bad father, etc. Who knows how much time we have on this earth, and I want to live every day knowing that I lived for the things that really matter."

The things you can get through Twitter! Third Day lead singer Mac Powell was celebrating his son's 7th birthday today. Happy Birthday, Cash!! By the way, that's a very cool Star Wars storm trooper helmet. Oh, wait! It's not a storm trooper, it's a CLONE trooper! Well, it's still very cool. :)

Jars of Clay finally "fell" today!!  Well, not the guys themselves, but their new album!  "The Long Fall Back to Earth" is out today, April 21st.  And since we like to keep you updated on all things music here on the Air 1 music blog, here's what the Jars guys are up to this week:

• Last Sunday they wrapped up recording the video for their new single "Two Hands"--the video will be up on their site soon!
• Tomorrow, Wednesday, they're honored to be a part of a cool benefit concert called Nashville4Africa, along with Third Day, Faith Hill, Keith Urban and others.
• Thursday, it's the 40th Annual Dove Awards--catch 'em on the Gospel Music Channel.
• Friday, they kick off their "Two Hands" tour in Lincoln, NE!!

Mac Powell from Third Day stopped by the Air 1 studio and showed us what it's like to be a phone volunteer during the Revolution fundraiser.  If you haven't seen the video, it's worth checking out!

 

So this tiny little picture, if you squint and try hard to see them, is Third Day.  And they're being REVEALED on the Gospel Music Channel.  And by REVEALED, I don't just mean that's the title of the show, they are playing an unplugged set...revealing some "behind the scene" stories, and they even REVEALED the list of songs they're playing during that set.  Pretty, um, revealing of Third Day.  :)
