Mark Hall, the lead singer of Casting Crowns is a self-proclaimed Star Wars geek ("...not as bad as I was before...", says Mark.)

He had a custom-made Han Solo desk and an Emperor chair that he donated to an auction to raise money for World Vision. So far, they have raised $15,000 and hope for more to help more kids.

The Dove Awards (aka, Christian version of the Grammys) took place last night in Nashville, TN...and here are some of the winners!

Needtobreathe won Group of the Year

Casting Crowns won Artist of the Year (I agree with our friends at JesusFreakHideout.com--I was kinda hoping for Skillet or Toby, but congrats to the Crowns!)

Francesca Battistelli won Female Vocalist of the Year

Song of the Year: By Your Side by Tenth Avenue North

The awards show will air on the Gospel Music Channel this Sunday, April 25th, at 8/7c.

Get this--100 artists (wow!) took time away from their busy schedules to record a song for Haiti. No one got paid (wow!)--the recording studio was free, the musicians donated their time, and all proceeds will go to the American Red Cross and Samaritan's Purse. I'm so excited about the amount of help this will bring to haitian people who need us so badly right now.

Oh yeah, here are a few of the 100 artists: TobyMac, Newsboys, Casting Crowns, Brandon Heath, Francesca Battistelli, Britt Nicole, Chris Sligh & Phil Stacey (ex-Idol guys), Lanae Hale, Manic Drive, Matthew West, Stephanie Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman & the guy who wrote the song and put this together, Michael W. Smith ... and on and on ... (wow!)
